Meet the Team: Calvin

For our July edition of Meet the Team, we had the pleasure of interviewing Project Manager, Calvin, one of our many (incredible) colleagues working hard behind the scenes.

Tell us about your role at FWG?

As a Project Manager, I look after a number of our technology products, specifically, the app and online service customers use every day, the online service we provide for creditors and the booking system that customers use to schedule advice and review calls.  This means that any new features or improvements we would like to make to these platforms are overseen by me and the development team I work with.

What led you to this role?

I’ve always been keen to solve problems and look for efficiencies, so being able to take the lead on projects which makes things easier for customers is ideal. It also means I get to work with different departments as well!

Tell us about a recent accomplishment?

We recently released a new version of our app. It had a couple of new features for customers, like live chat.  But what was really news was in the background, where we’ve made some big changes to the architecture. This will make it quicker and easier for the team to develop new functionality and get it out into the hands of our customers. As a team we’re already seeing the benefits of these changes.

How would your boss and colleagues describe you?

Great question, rumour has it they talk about how great and hilarious I am all the time.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

Music and sports, and exploring the sights of Manchester.

If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose?

Elon Musk?

If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?

Spotify, Instagram, Youtube

What fictional place would you most like to visit?

Tony Stark’s lab in Iron Man
