building blocks

#1 Know how to get in touch

If you have any problems it’s important you get in touch. Many things will be new to you when your debt solution starts, and although we’ll do everything we can to make you aware of everything, if there’s anything you’re unsure of, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

#2 Understand your budget

Part of succeeding on a debt solution is really getting to grips with your new budget. Now that your unsecured debt payments are included in your plan, that should go a long way to helping you. That being said, you can still take extra steps to ensuring you can manage.

One of the first things  you should look at is your food budget. Many people spend as much on their food as they do on their rent or mortgage. We’ve put together a 14 day food plan. It has hints and tips to help you get on top of your food expenditure.

#3 Know what to let us know about

Within the first few months of your debt solution you may still receive some contact from your creditors. This is completely normal while your creditors adjust to you being on a debt solution. We will help you to make sure this unwanted contact eventually stops. These are the types of letters you should make us aware of:

  • Letters threatening court action
  • Calls or letters from creditors demanding payment
  • Contact from creditors not included in your debt solution

We will write to you with more information about this in the first few weeks of your debt solution.

#4 Make sure you stay up to date

As you can probably tell from the previous tips, there’s a lot of important information we send to you via text and email. Keep an eye open for them! The messages are sent with one goal in mind – to help you succeed on your debt solution.
