Next up in our Meet the Team series we meet Simon, a Team Leader at Financial Wellness Group. We find out a little bit about what makes Simon tick, including a little bit about the work he does here, and what he enjoys doing in his spare time.
Tell us about your role within Financial Wellness Group?
I am the Team Leader for the New Customer and Admin teams. My role is to make sure that my team is providing the best possible service to the customers who have recently started their Debt Management Plan. It can be a stressful time for some customers when they hand over their finances to us, so it’s really important that my team is there to support them and ensure that everything is being done to get arrangements in place with the creditors.
What is your favourite thing about working for Financial Wellness Group?
My favourite thing about working for Financial Wellness Group is seeing the difference the solutions make for our customers. I receive all of the feedback that we get from customers and it’s great to see how many customers have positive things to say about the work we do and how its impacted their lives. It’s also a great boost for my team to read about how the work they do can change people’s lives for the better.
What’s one thing that surprised you about working at Financial Wellness group?
It was surprising to see customers from all walks of life in need of financial help. Speaking to customers emphasised that life doesn’t always go to plan and it can happen to anyone.
If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?
Twitter, Whatsapp and Sky Sports
What’s your favourite sport to watch and which team do you root for?
I love watching most sports and it can often take over the TV at home, but I would say mainly football. I have always been a Manchester United fan which has took an unexpected turn in recent years and it is now more a source of misery than enjoyment!
What’s one hobby you’d love to get into and why?
I have never done skiing or snowboarding but it’s something I would really like to try. It looks like a lot of fun and you get to see some amazing places so that is one for the future!
What is your all-time favourite food?
Crispy duck pancakes from the Chinese restaurant near home.
